CSM Energy’s project appraisal strategy is driven by the relevant legislation governing CSG exploration, recovery and extraction. Coal mine owners in Queensland and New South Wales have certain rights and obligations related to CSG in their coal mines. In the simplest terms the rights and obligations of the coal mine operator provide CSM Energy with three types of strategies it can utilise when developing a project.
