CSM Energy where relevant is interested in off mine site commercialisation of the incidental gas belonging to the coal mine. To achieve this CSM Energy will negotiate with the overlapping Petroleum Lease owner a Farmin Agreement or Joint Co-ordination Agreement.
This can result in a win-win for the coal miner who can benefit from off mine site power or gas use and for the petroleum lease owner who can benefit from the sales of the gas that may otherwise have been sterilised due to the mine operation.
CSM Energy’s products and services, commercialisation option's advantages to our clients are similar to that described on coal mine gas commercialisation web pages however the key differences that are specific to CBM include:
• Area selection (more flexible as not effected by mine plan);
• Aggressively converting gas resources into reserves;
• Coals contacted;
• Well type, spacing and patterns;
• Completion techniques (cavitation, fraccing);
• Management of system and wellhead pressure, wellbore fluid levels;
• Costs – CAPEX, OPEX;
• Marketing and Transportation (gas price, first sales)
